I thought the road is endless. He didn’t tell me anything. I am confused at times. Should I sound? Should I echo? I zipped my jacket to cover my chest from the wind. I’m going to freeze.
After half an hour, we finally reached our destination, a dock in a lake. It was pretty cloudy, yet so refreshing.
“Where are we?” I asked, “You didn’t kidnap me, did you? Are we going through the lake? I’m hungry, so you better find a good restaurant, because I’m a picky eater. Where is the nearest restaurant here? I can’t found them.”
He laughed. Looks like a giggle to me, but I bet he was contented to see me worry.
“Okay, you need not answer all the questions! You can just laugh and laugh again,” I said grumpily.
He sat on the bench that facing the lake. “Come,” he said with a gentle smile, while cleaned up the bench for my sit. I sat next to him.
Then out of nowhere, suddenly the craft seller was coming for us. “This pretty bracelet, please buy it,” she said, “Ten thousand Rupiah, only. Please buy.”
“Err…,” I saw her friend not too far from our place, with the same bracelet products to sell. Then without my permission, the craft seller gave me the bracelet. “No!” I rejected. Thoughts – they do what we don’t ask for.
“Come on, let’s get out of here,” he stood up, left the craft seller. I followed him to the parking area. “Don’t buy anything here. They’ll just make you buy another one from her friend, and her another friend, and her another friend again.”
Never ending friends trick. I knew it! That I don’t know! I almost bought it because I pitied her.
We went to the restaurant near the dock. The restaurant was floating on the lake and the view was lovely. We took photos of the lake before we ordered food. At times, we pretend to think on one and actually think everything else!
